Behaviour and Conduct

RISE Education is committed to establishing firm boundaries for good and poor behaviour and empowering pupils to take personal responsibility for behaviour.

Staff strives to consistently reward learners who are working and behaving appropriately. Rewards are given for amongst other things meeting expectations, helping other learners or staff, responding appropriately to requests to change behaviour, etc.:

Rewards include:

  • Verbal praise
  • Merit point(s)
  • Call/text to parent/guardian
  • Postcard/letter to parent/carer
  • Certificate of recognition
  • Student of the week
  • Subject Award
  • Head Teacher Award
  • Trips
  • Etc

All pupils are expected to behave respectfully and sensibly and should be fully aware that any anti-social, disruptive or bullying behaviour will not be tolerated. Inappropriate behaviour will be dealt with in the following manner:

  • Verbal Warning
  • Demerits
  • Detention
  • Meeting with mentor/tutor
  • Written warning to parent
  • Referral to the Deputy Head
  • Letter to Home School/LA
  • Referral to Head
  • Permanent exclusion 

Criminal Damage /Assault on Staff

Any damage caused to the property or any of the equipment by a pupil will be seen as an act of criminal damage. Repairs to school property necessitated by criminal damage on the part of a pupil will be charged to the parent.
